To launch the 180th anniversary of Old Fisherman’s Wharf in Monterey, I created a 4-line poem contest called, “Ode to Calamari” for the month of January 2025.
I found some great calamari photos and photos of the Wharf.
All of the food writers picked up this fun contest and we could promote it on social channels, the website and various websites. We received 36 poems!
The 3 winners won “Wharf Dollars” which they can use with any business on the Wharf. I posted it on the website on a new page, announced the winners on social media and sent out a press release too.
